Chippenham’s High Street has, like many towns in the country, become entirely pedestrianised and most of the well known shops are to be found there, like Boots, Woolworths, Superdrug, W.H. Smith, to name but a few. The town also has two more shopping areas which include some more famous high street stores such as Littlewoods and Argos.



For those wishing to shop in the larger superstores they are also catered for and can be found on the outskirts of the town.

On a Friday and Saturday a market is held in the Market Place which offers a variety of produce and goods which are to be found in most markets these day i.e. clothes, shoes, jewellery and CD’s. The market also has regular craft, antique and book fairs which are very popular. There is also a very well patronised Farmers’ Market which takes place every two weeks where the produce on offer is all locally grown.
