Chippenham

The thriving market town of Chippenham situated on the River Avon lies about 4 miles to the south of the M4 motorway with the towns of Bath, Bristol and Swindon, within easy reach. However, its location is ideally suited for visiting the Cotswolds, the Marlborough Downs and Salisbury Plain.



If looking for a pretty English village some would say look no further than Castle Combe and Lacock which are only a few miles away. For those who wish to travel by train the main line route runs from London Paddington to the West Country through Chippenham. Keeping to the railway theme the town is also famous for the railway arches which were built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel when the Great Western Railway was built. Some buildings in the town are also the creation of this famous engineer.
